Strawberry and apple picking
If you visit from October to May during harvest season, you have to add strawberry or apple picking to your list. It’s a fun, relaxing activity.
Visit Ashbern Farms or Eastern Colour for your strawberries. Eastern Colour also offers apple picking, as does Nicoletti Orchards.
Whilst Sutton’s Juice Factory doesn’t offer apple picking, they do have a huge range of apple-related treats including an apple pie that can’t be missed!
Delightful meals
Stanthorpe has some fantastic restaurants who really focus on good quality, local food.
Essen is a dégustation restaurant in the heart of Stanthorpe and they offer a set sharing menu which changes weekly. One glance at the seasonal menu and you can sense the chef’s creativity and passion.
Varias Restaurant, just on the edge of Stanthorpe, is another sophisticated restaurant who champion high-quality seasonal food. Enjoy your meal overlooking the grapevines – if you choose their Medley of Mains dish, you will get a sample of their mains paired with Banca Ridge wines.
Picnic at a National Park
We’re spoiled for choice in the Granite Belt for picnic spots, as we have multiple national parks on our doorstep. Girraween, Boonoo Boonoo, Sundown, and Bald Rock are all beautiful national parks that offer rock pools, serene wildflower walks, and awe-inspiring views. Bring a picnic basket, your binoculars, and your swimmers!
